Gender Reveal Party

A Queer Craft Circle

This craft circle will explore themes related to gender and sexuality through simple handicrafts, giving each other permission to experiment, go out on a limb, and get messy! Do you want to try out a new name or pronouns? A daring new look you’re nervous to debut? You’ve come to the right place. All are welcome and no prior art-making experience is necessary.

This month we will be making fundraiser patches in support of Palestinians. Over the past several months, guest facilitator Potato has sold these patches through Firestorm to raise over $600 for The Hebron International Resource Network (HIRN). Potato has kindly agreed to walk us through this sweet sewing craft so we can replenish the stock of benefit patches.

Guest facilitator Potato (he/it) is a queer fellow who likes swimming, monster women, and horror novels. Quirky and neurodivergent, he is a very hands on thinker and loves getting together in community for common cause.

The Hebron International Resource Network is an organization comprised of local Palestinians and international allies. Using the principles of Sumud (steadfast hope), they seek to support Palestinians living near settlements. By supporting their right to water, safe housing, movement, and education, Palestinians are more likely to stay on their land and in their homes. Their existence is resistance.

The organizer of this event marked it kid-friendly. 😛
