Dialogue Cafe
The Teaching of African-American History
Chaplain and educator Robert "Zack" Zachary offers a pictorial presentation of combined poetry, storytelling, expressive thought, music and dialogue audience participation to reveal "The Proper and More Effectual Method on the Teaching of Afro-American History." This event will place emphasis solely on the vast acts, achievements, contributions, inventions, compositions, discoveries; inclusive of names. Zack reveals a new and traditional way of knowing and understanding history, with meaning, respect and cultural appreciation.
A $15 participant donation is requested to support this event, with no one turned away due to lack of funds.
The Dialogue Cafe is a circular forum of conversation; packed with subjects and themes which are both simple and complex. Through dialogue, it guides the most complex and political issues, connecting and reapplying them to everyday life, our communities and the global picture. It becomes an invitation to take a look at solutions in a different way then we have been taught.
