Hormigas Exodos
Report from the Migrant Caravan in Tijuana
Local artist Grayson Morris reports back from her recent ten days in Tijuana, working to support the people of the Caravan through Enclave Caracol and other groups. She will share her first-hand experience, stories from migrating families, and the insights gained.
"Organizing doesn’t mean centralizing power through one channel, in fact that becomes a bottleneck. The most effective way is to have many people working together in small trusted groups to get the job done that they think is most pressing. And then additionally they are in contact with other groups to strategize when appropriate. We are like hormigas, ants, one caravan organizer told me, each is doing their job, they’re all working together, nobody is in charge, but the job gets done."
