New York Times bestselling author Wiley Cash will release The Last Ballad on October 3rd. His book is based on social justice fighter Ella May Wiggins's life. The purpose of this discussion is to explore how Cash and other authors have portrayed Ella May, who she was really, and her relevance today.

This event will be facilitated by a great-granddaughter of Ella May, Kristina Horton. Horton is also author of the nonfiction book, Martyr of Loray Mill, a book about Ella May and the Loray Mill strike.
