Autumn Burnett and the Great Swamps
Autumn Burnett (https://autumnburnett.bandcamp.com/) is a songwriter, guitarist, and violist from Lake Tahoe, NV. She studied music at Oberlin College and Conservatory, and currently lives in Asheville. Her songs are concoctions of magical surrealist lyricism and classical guitar repertoire; pulling images from grown-up fairy tales and west-coast dreamscapes. Once, someone in a bar said, “she’s kind of like Joanna Newsom, but she makes more sense.
The Great Swamps (http://thegreatswamps.bandcamp.com) is a groovy roaming folk-punk project led by songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Matt Horowitz. Originally from New Jersey, Matt studied Russian at Oberlin College and Conservatory and a series of bizarre decisions somehow led them here. Matt sings songs about relationships, ghosts, gender, and places extremely far & extremely close. TGS recently published a collection of songs called Indiana, and is looking forward to more!
Autumn and Matt are excited to reunite in Asheville for the first time since Oberlin, and they hope Asheville is excited, too.
