By now you've almost certainly heard all about the supply chain nightmare that is sure to ruin everyone's holiday shopping plans. Most of our fellow booksellers have been on social media exhorting their patrons to place gift orders early (really early!). Publishers, meanwhile, email us every week begging us to stockpile their titles like literary survivalists.

As a bookstore that mostly sells things that other bookstores don't, we haven't been too worried about it. But now it seems like all the panic buying could actually result in a scarcity for certain titles we care about. All this to say, dear reader, that if you aspire to give books as presents in the next two months, consider browsing our catalog for an unexpected gem rather than setting your heart on whatever Terry Gross is reading.
