Body Talk

Every first and third Thursday since June 2025

Body Talk is a space to interrogate the narratives we've collectively internalized about our bodies. We will learn together through collective study of books, articles, podcasts, movies and more!

Starting September 18th, we are reading Disability Intimacy: Essays on Love, Care, and Desire by Alice Wong, a revolutionary collection of first-person writing on the joys and challenges of the modern disability experience, and intimacy in all its myriad forms. Use the promo code BODYTALK to save 10% on the book at checkout. Firestorm will make copies of the book available at no cost for participants who cannot afford to buy one.

For the November 20th meeting of the study group we'll be discussing through page 228 of Disability Intimacy.

Group facilitator Gaby is a Neurodivergent Educator and body activist on a continuous healing journey with community toward body liberation & ability inclusiveness.

We understand that we are all in different places with our relationships to our bodies. This particular group exists to untangle messy feelings and often triggering histories. This is not a space to seek diet/ing advice or professional support for disordered eating recovery.

Content Warning: This event may include discussion of eating disorders.

To increase accessibility for high risk community members, Firestorm requires masking at all indoor events. Learn more
