Mutual Aid Against Catastrophe
Please join us to launch a new issue of Lux, a feminist magazine! We'll be discussing the power of mutual aid in a moment of political and ecological crisis with Mergoat Magazine and the Pansy Collective.
Many of us have been practicing mutual aid, from Hurricane Helene in Appalachia to Hurricane Sandy in NYC, from food to book shares, and we’ve been writing about it too—can mutual aid be political force in a moment when government has all but collapsed? What can we learn from organizers in regions that have long suffered official abandonment like Appalachia and the poorest corners of New York, LA, and Philly? Can these networks become a source of power that transcends mere survival?
Come for the discussion, and grab a copy of the new issue, featuring a cover story about policing gender in sports, reports on tenant and abortion organizing, fresh fiction and film reviews, new photography from Lebanon to NYC, and much more.
Lux would appreciate it if you RSVPed at partiful.com.
