Writing Through the Storm
This community workshop will provide support and guidance through our new, post-hurricane landscape. For those interested in the way writing interacts with the world around us and within us, this workshop will focus on the themes of grief, loss and environmental issues. Facilitator McKenzie Teter will provide examples of poets who are tackling these topics in the world today, lead a free-write session, small group feedback circles, and open the floor to anyone who would like to share any work or questions.
This space is meant to support creatives of all identities and skill levels. Feel free to bring pre-written pieces you want eyes on or fresh new ideas! Any judgment, violence or negative feedback will not be tolerated. Happy writing and hope to see you there!
Anticipated Agenda
3:00pm – Introductions and sharing example works
3:30pm – Free write
4:00pm – Small group feedback and large group sharing
4:30pm – Questions and wrap up
