Please join us to learn what the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement (BDS) is and how it works to support Palestinian liberation!

Organizers will share resources for further learning about this effective, non-violent action. You’ll also hear about BDS actions happening in the Asheville area. And you’ll have an opportunity to join local efforts by signing up for canvassing and/or writing directly to local and national businesses to encourage them to join this decades-long global movement.

This session will be led by local parents. All materials will be provided. All ages welcome.

1:00pm - Overview of BDS Campaign and local actions, followed by Q&A
1:25pm - Connect with community, write in support of BDS, join local initiatives, donate to mutual aid funds, and meet Jewish Voice for Peace Asheville representatives

Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions is a Palestinian-led movement for freedom, justice and equality. Inspired by the South African anti-apartheid movement, the BDS call urges action to pressure Israel to comply with international law. BDS is now a vibrant global movement made up of unions, academic associations, churches and grassroots movements across the world. Since its launch in 2005, BDS is having a major impact and is effectively challenging international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism. bdsmovement.net
