An event for LGBTQ+ children and families that includes activities, snacks, meet and greet with other queer families and a drag read aloud! The story hour will be from 1pm-2pm, with time for socializing before and after. This event is free, but if you have the resources available, please consider tipping the performers! :)
The Gayby-Sitters Club is a free monthly social meetup group for Asheville queer, trans, gender non-conforming, and questioning parents of kiddos from pregnancy/gestation to school age. They aim to help folks find community throughout the younger years of their littles. This is a place for meeting new friends, to bring your kids, to relax, and to SAY GAY all over the hekkin' place. The Gayby-Sitters are an inclusive group, they respect pronouns, and expect attendees to do the same.
Please note that Firestorm requires masks at all events. We understand that it is difficult for small children to keep masks on, especially now, so activities will be outside on the patio where masks are not required. The reading will take place inside with amplification so that it can also be heard and seen from the patio.
The organizer of this event marked it kid-friendly. 😛
