The Real Asheville, The Social Determinants of Health for African Americans in Asheville, NC is a grassroots, community initiative to train community leaders in the data that reflects their lived experiences. As the housing subcommittee, we meet prior to City Council meetings to discuss, share and learn about how housing policies and decisions are made, and how we can have influence and advocate for affordable, quality housing for all Ashevillians, particularly for our African American Citizens.
