Local Mystery Author Panel
Come out and meet local mystery authors David Burnsworth, John Carenen, and Linda Lovely. All three authors have mystery series that range from cozy to noir, but each series focuses on more than just the murder. Each author develops their characters so thoroughly, that by the time you turn the final page in the first book, you feel as if you've known them forever and can't wait to find out what happens next.
David Burnsworth (In It For The Money), became fascinated with the Deep South at a young age. After a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee and fifteen years in the corporate world, he made the decision to write a novel. He is the author of both the Brack Pelton and the Blu Carraway Mystery series. He and his wife call South Carolina home.
John Carenen (The Face on the Other Side), a native of Clinton, Iowa, graduated with an M.F.A. in Fiction Writing from the prestigious University of Iowa Writers Workshop and has been writing ever since. His work has appeared in numerous popular and literary magazines, and he has been a featured columnist in newspapers in North and South Carolina.
Linda Lovely (Bones to Pick), an enthusiastic Sisters in Crime member, finds writing pure fiction isn’t a huge stretch given her years penning PR and ad copy. She writes a blend of mystery and humor, chuckling as she plots to "disappear" the types of characters who most annoy her. Her newest series offers good-natured salutes to both her vegan family doctor and her cheese-addicted kin.
