EDS Support Group
Every third Saturday from January 2018 until November 2019
The EDS Support Group of Asheville invites you to learn about Ehlers-Danlos, share tips and tricks, and support each other in coping effectively with the condition. They meet monthly at a live support group for those with EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome), MCAD/S (Mast-Cell Activation Disorder/Syndrome), POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), and other comorbid conditions. Family, friends, and caregivers are welcome to attend.
Bring along something for you: A pillow, yoga mat, or anything else needed to be comfortable for two hours. There are chairs and floor space available to accommodate sitting, laying, standing, and walking comfortably.
Bring along something to share: A journal, handout, expert advice, nutritional ideas, a brace you find helpful, useful tools or anything else that helps you manage your symptoms.
Bring along something of yourself: Compassion, an open mind, and a willingness to learn can help us all lift one another up. We face challenges from our families, friends, society, and the healthcare system - this is our safe place to share in a comfortable and accepting community.
Please note that the meeting space at Firestorm is separated from the public area by a heavy curtain. While it provides some muffling and visual privacy, this space is NOT soundproof. Please keep this in mind during the meeting, and do not share any private or medical information you are uncomfortable with being overheard.
