Spent Saints by Brian Jabas Smith is ten linked narratives that follow Julian Grayling over three decades of his life. He is a champion bike racer at 14, the frontman of a successful rock band who refuses to sell out, and then an alcoholic, who falls in love with a nude dancer who gets him into crystal meth. When Julian's body fails him he must choose to stay sober or die, which costs him his job and his girlfriend. To find redemption he must face down the real demon, his depression, once and for all.
