Transforming Education for Adults
Much improvement is needed in higher education in America today: With average student debt now over $37,000 and 61% of graduates working in jobs that don't require a degree, innovative solutions are critical, if we are to slow the pains of an outdated system. With education as a proven marker for quality-of-life factors as well as for increased citizen participation in the US, Sphere College Project is setting out to introduce a radical new education system – one that has the ability to support more adults in advancing their station in life, quickly and effectively, and positioning them to drive important and necessary social change.
Sphere College Project is in the beginning phases of putting a program into action, and is seeking interested community members for participation. Specifically, they are looking for students, teachers, mentors, sponsors, and volunteers. If you are passionate about creating an educational system that is more effective for all members of our community, then please join in.
About the Sphere College Project
Sphere College Project's unique community-based learning model is a “no-grade” system, has a heavy mentorship component, uses available community space for assembly, and is accessible to adults, regardless of means. Structurally, Sphere is in process of securing a 501(c)(3) tax exempt status, for fundraising purposes, but aims for a “worker-run” initiative where teachers, mentors, students and staff all participate in the steering of the organization.
