The West Virginia Mine Wars

Combining talk, imagery, and song, this presentation explores the 20-year history of the West Virginia Mine Wars. These wars, which included the second-largest insurrection in U.S. history, are little appreciated for their lasting impact on our nation's history. The presentation concludes with a focus on the endangerment of a historic battle site- Blair Mountain, WV- as it comes under threat of mountain-top removal mining.
