RAMPS Mountain Mobilization Report Back

Members of Katuah Earth First! will present a report back on their recent participation in the Radical Action for Mountain People's Survival (RAMPS) Mountain Mobilization in West Virginia.

This direct action, in concert with other tactics, successfully shut down the largest surface coal mine in Appalachia, Hobet Mine. Over fifty protestors walked onto the active mine site, faced aggressive miners, an army of state troopers, and haul trucks the size of houses. They blocked roads, locked down to mining equipment (including an explosives truck), and took to the trees. In all, 20 folks were arrested in this massive act in civil disobedience. Come out, hear the stories and support your local Earth First! chapter!
