Hobet 20 Letter-Writing & Film Screening

On July 28th, more than 50 protesters affiliated with the R.A.M.P.S. Campaign walked onto Patriot Coal's Hobet mine and shut it down. Those involved believe that government has failed to protect Appalachian communities by aiding and abetting the coal industry in evading environmental and mine safety protections. At this time, 20 protestors, including member's of our community, remain jailed with politically-motivated bails of $25,000 each.

Join us at 7pm on August 2nd for legal updates and a screening of "The Last Mountain," an anti-MTR film, or drop in throughout the day to participate in a letter writing campaign.

10% of all cafe proceeds for the day will benefit arestees' legal defense. For more information, visit rampscampaign.org.
