"Chattel"

"Chattel" is a 2003 documentary focused on several research facilities and the campaigns and individuals working to close them down. The film includes the story of Matt Rossell's two year undercover investigation at the Oregon Regional Primate Center. Also included in the documentary:

  • A look at the worldwide campaign to close down the contract testing facility Huntingdon Life Sciences;
  • A student group working to stop primate experiments at UCLA; and
  • Insight into the philosophies and actions of the Animal Liberation Front.

Features interviews with Dr. Jane Goodall, Dr. Ray Greek, Dr. Jerry Vlasak, Kevin Jonas, Javier Burgos, former ALF spokesperson David Barbaresh, and former USDA inspector, Dr. Isis Johnson-Brown.
