May Day, an ancient holiday celebrating the coming of summer, has in more recent history been celebrated as International Worker's Day. This year, the Second Annual May Day Jamboree will feature singer-songwriter Michael Luketan, The revolutionary Celtic band Red Wind and Saro Lynch-Thomason. This show will have a special focus on the Bread and Roses Strike of Lawrence, MA and the Paint Creek Strikes of West Virginia, both celebrating their 100-year anniversaries this spring.
